Who We Are - She Speaks Faith

Made in Hackney, She Speaks Faith is a community interest company that supports less engaged and isolated individuals with their holistic health. We understand the importance of unity, so we have revived the saying 'You are your brother's keeper' and cultivate solidarity within our communities.

We run workshops and organise events, collaborating with specialist professionals within the social, health and educational sectors. We currently host two events for men and women that may not usually engage with mainstream services. These have a great positive impact and will further increase our ability to support our broader vision.

Community Empowerment 

Ultimately, we work to inspire holistic wellness. By empowering individuals, overcoming social and cultural barriers, and deepening community connections, cohesion and more importantly, promote positive mental health. 

Community expressions/creations 

We showcase talent and skills that empower confidence and share impactful stories. All our performances convey a message through spoken word, art, dance, music, and drama. 

Community Escape:

‘BREATHE’: We want to organise yearly wellness retreats for members facing traumatic or overwhelming circumstances, who need space to ‘breathe’.

Community Aid: 

We are working towards opening our holistic wellness hub! A space for all our members, offering additional activities and aid through the cost-of-living crisis. 

A 27-year-old British Jamaican. A mother, entrepreneur, qualified TA, youth advocate, and event host who has encountered and overcome many barriers in life, including abuse, grief, and addiction. Her story, experience, and Hebrew Christian faith are the driving forces that have morphed pain into purpose. Shimona is now on a mission to build an impactful community  aiding African Caribbeans, minority groups, and others needing psychological, spiritual, and academic support. This passion formed the She Speaks Faith organisation.
